Goals and Objectives to be carried out by School Board

1. Catholic Identity

Strengthen Catholic Identity within Holy Trinity Catholic School Community to carry out the mission of the school

  • Increase attendance at mass (create a measurement tool)
  • Increase student involvement at masses
  • Increase amount of student service performed in the community at large
  • Communicate evidence of student service work to the community
  • Show student activities, quarterly newsletter be more geared towards showing service activities, and fulfillment of the school mission
  • Develop creative ways of utilizing the role of the priests in the community

2. Ownership/Governance

Develop a greater sense of unity among the parishes of Holy Trinity and Saint Stephen and their surrounding communities in greater support of the school

  • Develop a consistent sacramental policy within Holy Trinity and Saint Stephen’s parishes
  • Work to ensure appropriate representation of our diverse population
    i.e. Holy Trinity, St. Stephen, parents, parish members without children in school, other parishes, those of other faiths.
  • Clarify hierarchy of command and channels of communication
  • Implement appropriate training for school board members both new and returning
  • Develop an appropriate committee structure under the board to address the needs of the school
  • Develop an ownership and governance plan between Holy Trinity and Saint Stephen’s Parishes

3. Enrollment

Create a plan to increase and sustain enrollment

  • Establish comprehensive data collection and management to drive recruitment activities
  • Analyze current student population and develop plans for higher retention rates
  • Develop a comprehensive enrollment plan to manage marketing and recruiting
  • Develop various approaches to increase enrollment at the primary level (PreK-2nd)
  • Work with faculty and administration to improve inclusion of all students in the school community

4. Curriculum

Enrich the curriculum to provide the best possible education for all students

  • Explore ways of adding foreign languages within the curriculum
  • Use differentiated learning to ensure students are challenged at all ability levels
  • Explore various methods of assisting students with special needs
  • Develop a formal plan/timeline for reviewing course programs, textbooks and technology
  • Perform curriculum mapping and analysis of standardized test results to target weaker subsections and learning objectives in order to enhance those areas

5. Staffing

Strive to provide a high quality work experience for faculty and staff

  • Explore the provision of adequate staffing to meet school needs
  • Increase compensation
  • Enhance the camaraderie of the teachers
  • Explore ways to provide nurse and counseling support
  • Explore the possibility of a motivational program for faculty and staff
  • Implement a comprehensive approach to team building and provision of ongoing professional education

6. Finance

Improve the financial stability of Holy Trinity Catholic School through developing an appropriate mix of parish support, fundraising and advancement opportunities

  • Develop a plan to increase salaries of all employees
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive budget with appropriate internal controls
  • Work with other committees to maximize revenue opportunities
  • Clarify partnerships and financial support from Holy Trinity and St. Stephen’s Parishes

7. Facilities

Develop a plan to coordinate facility management with both church and school amenities

  • Ensure safety and security of facility
  • Maximize utilization of Holy Trinity facilities
  • Maintain facility structure and aesthetics
  • Clarify distribution of rental revenues

8. Development

Establish an effective and fully functional advancement and public relations program that supports the school mission

  • Improve strategies to increase enrollment
  • Create advancement committee to coordinate fundraising efforts, secure grant funds, etc.
  • Develop a clear plan for marketing Holy Trinity Catholic School to the community
  • Coordinate fundraising activities through the school board

9. School in the Community

Increase the presence of Holy Trinity Catholic School students in our parish communities

  • Strengthen our relationship with Althoff Catholic High School
  • Build relationships, beyond fundraising, with local businesses, subdivisions and community organizations
  • Increase student service in the community (Food Pantry, Discover Fairview Heights Day, activities in Caseyville)
